Blogs, and videos, and emails, oh my!
If you’ve ever wondered why I share so many different forms of media, it’s because traders learn in different styles and at different paces. I want it to be informative, not overwhelming, so here’s how it breaks down.
Long-Form Videos
I started this trading education business late 2016. But it wasn’t until mid 2019 that I started posting long-form Youtube videos.
The definition of the length of this type of video varies, but in this day and age I’d consider it anything more than 2 minutes. 🙂
In these types of videos I often comment on current broad market conditions, individual stocks around news or earnings, or share in depth tips and tutorials for trading.
I still create longer videos now and then, but I usually focus on a topic or lesson as the main theme, using current markets as the example to demonstrate the concept at hand.
Short-Form Videos
In 2023, I started regularly posting short-form videos.
These are generally considered bite-sized videos anywhere from a few seconds up to 2 minutes long.
This allowed traders who are quickly scrolling social media to get quick lessons throughout their day, especially off their mobile devices.
Sometimes they include a chart for analysis, sometimes they don’t! Those “Hima on screen ones” are just as valuable as chart videos because they’re usually me imparting wisdom to save you time and energy in your trading journey – mindset, money management, etc.
Live Streaming Videos
Here in 2026, I started live streaming. This is via my free weekly trading show Ticker Request Live where I move through many many live markets – actual audience requests – and give my take on them in real time.
We keep these streams up for about a week at a time, and you can watch by either joining me live in the Zoom room or tuning in on YouTube.
No Videos, Just Text
Finally, sometimes I just feel like writing (like with this article that you’re reading! That results in a text blog post only. No associated video or other media, just me sharing something that I believe will help boost your trading or your life surrounding it.
These have included stories about me almost getting arrested, cooking adventures with my mom, or takes on life in Austin TX – again relating back to trading in some way.
The thing about these different types of content is that they’re not always in separate silos.
Something I taught at my live stream may be spliced out for a short-video…
A deep dive from a coaching call may inspire a text blog…
The goal is to make useful lessons available in the formats different traders prefer.
Some traders learn better through reading, others through watching. For the viewers, for some it’s better on their schedule (pre-recorded and posted). For others, they maximize learning live (streams).
