The Final Two Archetypes That Changed My Trading

In my last post, I shared the first two of Tony Robbins’ “Four Archetypes” — the Warrior and the Magician — and how I began using them before every trading session.

Here are the final two, where the exercise surprised me most — and where it shifted my trading in ways I didn’t expect.

Archetype #3: The Lover

When I first heard Tony say “lover,” I’ll admit I laughed. It sounded a little out of place in the middle of an exercise he was doing with our live virtual event audience modelled from his story of helping UFC champion Conor McGregor.

But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

The Lover is about compassion, empathy, and connection — not just with others, but with ourselves.

In the exercise, you summon it the same way you did the Warrior and the Magician: colors, sounds, physical presence in your body. And then you ask: What is my Lover saying to me right now?

For me, this step was critical. Because let’s be honest — a lot of us come to trading from a place of “not enough.” Not enough money. Not enough freedom. Not enough security. Not enough grace towards ourselves for mistakes and misses.

The Lover is where I remind myself that I am worthy of success and to be able to make great money in short periods of time

That shift was game-changing.

Archetype #4: The Sovereign

The final archetype is the Sovereign (or King). It’s the leader, the one that guides the other three archetypes. It’s the part of you that runs the show of your life.

When I tried summoning this part of me during Tony’s live event, what surprised me was how natural it felt. I didn’t overthink it. Colors, sounds, even words just came up on their own. And then I asked: What does my Sovereign say to me as I step into this day of trading?

That message shifts day to day. The anchor points — the color, the sound, the place in my body — stay the same. But the words change, I believe depending on what my subconscious thinks that my conscious needs to hear.

Bringing The Complete 4 Archetypes Into My Trading

When I first tried all four archetypes at Tony’s event, I thought, “That felt good.” But I didn’t yet see how much it would impact my trading.

By late May, I started adding it into my Start Trading Mode. By June, I’d even shifted the start time of my Futures Trading Lab so I could do it naturally before going live.

The change was night and day:

  • I was calmer.
  • I was less distracted by the fact that people were watching me trade.
  • I was more open to what the market was showing, instead of trying to “steer the ship.”

And the results showed up — not just in live trading room sessions, but in my private trading too.

More Than Just Trading

We’ve explored the importance of getting ready to trade not just physically but mentally as part of the First 40 Trading Club curriculum and in office hours. We go deeper into it in the Mindset with Megan (our trading psychology coach) in our Elevate sessions. Every time, traders report a shift forward.

The degree of change is different for everyone — but there’s always progress.

For me, doing the 4 Archetypes invocation has become my go-to. It’s easy to do, it’s powerful, and once you feel the benefit, you won’t think twice about doing it.

Now, I even warn my husband: if he hears me grunting or shouting in the morning, not to worry, it’s just part of my trading prep! Probably my Warrior speaking up first. 😉

And while I use this innovation before sitting down to trade, , you can try it before any high-stakes activities in your life. When you bring all four archetypes online — the Warrior, the Magician, the Lover, and the Sovereign — you step in with more clarity, confidence, and calm.
