Building a trading plan can feel overwhelming. You’re not always sure if you’re doing it “right.”
That’s why I run Office Hours inside the First 40 Trading Club. They give members a live place to ask questions, get feedback, and move forward with clarity. Here’s some pointers for all traders whether you attend these sessions or not.
What Happens Inside
When you’re stuck, having a space to talk through the challenge can make all the difference. So Office Hours are one hour Zoom Meetings (not Webinars) offered twice a month. Members attend with microphones and even cameras on if they like, like how clubs used to meet IRL back in the day.
This connection and ability to talk to me directly (not just type in a chat) truly multiplies the value of the session. It’s first come first served as attendees raise their virtual hand and I speak to each trader directly and we work through whatever’s going on in their trading and personal journey of building, testing, and adapting a trading plan..
Questions range from:
- Here’s what I’m thinking for trade management. Do you have any advice or tweaks?
- “How do I evaluate the results from my first round of testing?”
- “What’s the best way to adapt this setup so I can scale in the future?”
It’s practical, it’s interactive, and it’s grounded in whatever stage of the plan-building process a member is in.
The Unique Twist
Over time, Office Hours have become more than just Q&A. They’ve shaped the club itself.
For example, in the early days, members asked to see my own trading plan as an example. That request led me to figure out a way to share it with the important disclaimer that it’s meant to be inspiration, not something to copy directly. I figured out the best way to do that, shared it, and it's been a huge value add.
Another time, I noticed there were several questions about pacing, as in how long it would or should take to move through the process from the club curriculum. This led me to create the Trading Plan Build Guide, an 8-week map that helps members get it done step by step in a way that fits their individual lifestyles.
Even replays are making an impact. Members often share in Discord that watching a replay unlocked something they missed the first time, or heard fresh all together:

The result: clarity, momentum, and a sense of community while you move through the process.
Side Door Coaching Bonus
Whether you attend live or catch the replay of Office Hours here’s what you gain:
- A clear next step when you feel stuck
- Practical feedback on your plan, testing, or adaptation
- Reinforcement through replays (posted the next business day)
- A real sense of community support and accountability
And if you do make it live? You never know what question will come up once you’re in the room — and sometimes hearing someone else’s challenge gives you the exact breakthrough you need. That’s what they call side door coaching, and it’s been a huge bonus for live attendees. A lot of them end up raising their hand and getting clarity as a follow up to someone else's question or comment!
Track Your Questions, Not Just Your Trades
Office Hours are for First 40 Trading Club members and complement the curriculum they're already moving through. The curriculum gives the methods step by step, and Office Hours give the real-time space to workshop what’s on your mind.
Even if you’re not in First 40, here’s something you can do to help get you unstuck in your trading. The next time you analyze the charts of the market you trade, or make a trade and review it, ask yourself:
If I were meeting Hima for a coffee, what question would I bring to her about my trading?
This will get you to start to think critically about your trading in a different way – looking at how you would talk through challenges or changes. Just putting the question into words often reveals the answer — or at least the next step you need to take.
